Camp Mason 2007 in NJ
Day one
“I am still very excited and worried.” I said to my friend when we got on the bus. It was the first day of camping. We were just about to leave our school to the heaven.
“It might be rain and snow during this trip. I don’t want that. It is terrible.” My friend said unhappily. In fact, the sky looked not so bright. The sun hided its sick face and wind blew very hard like it wanted to pull every single tree out of the ground. I began to worry because I didn’t like the rain weather. Snow was not as bad as rain because it wouldn’t get our bodies wet unless we made ourselves wet.

As I woke up in the bus, I saw two terrify faces. They were Lee and Fanny who drew marks on their faces. They looked terrify at the first sight, and they did funny motions as they shouted out and woke up others. I was glad that I arrived when I saw the climbing wall just stood next to me. It was memory that I left over last year. I had had great time here. I was expecting another memory, but it seemed hard to achieve. The sky was still crying and the sun still had its sick face hidden. I was still hoping.
I couldn’t wait to begin the first activity even though the weather was not good. We headed to the hill after the lunch. The first activity was the Pamper Pole. It was a big and high wooden pole, on which we had to stand. We also need to jump and ring the bell. It was raining and cold. In addition, it was muddy and dirty. In short, it was terrible. I just wanted to finish it quickly and headed to the dining hall. For me, the Pamper Pole was not new. It was an easy job as long as I was a crazy boy who liked excitement and adventure. Yet, it was a tough task for those who were afraid of high. We helped each other by encourage them “Come on! You can do it. You are almost there. Good job! So close! Just do it!”……
It was not a good day, but it was a good night for the first day. We had party at night in the dining hall. I liked it and others liked it, too. They enjoyed so much! Of course, we were the great dancers danced as soon as the music was on. I was not dancer, but I enjoyed doing the light effects by using the flash light. It was funny for me.
Time always went fast when you were having fun. We dismissed at about night and we went back to our cabins. The worst thing when I saw tons of white pieces falling from the sky. It snowed last at night. The weather was getting worse. I was unhappy and worry, yet I was still hoping.
Day two and three
I put these two days together because it had the same weather and same feeling. It was snow everywhere these two days. We couldn’t do as many outdoor activities as usual. Instead of following the schedule, the director said that we could have some indoor activities, and we could even choose the outdoor activities that we like in the last day morning. We did many different indoor and outdoor activities in the last two days. Now, I would to talk about the Zipline and playing the snowboard. They were the most excited activities I played in this trip.
At the beginning, I thought I couldn’t play Zipline because it was not on our group schedule. Things will be better if you keep hoping. Finally, I got a chance to try it. I waited for two hours to do it. I was freezing when it was my turn to do it, but I still did it fast. Plus, I did something crazy, which I only the rope with one hand, and hold the camera with the other hand. I was doing the video taping when I jumped. It was so cool. The view up there was unbelievable wonderful. You could take a look at it and enjoy if you were not scared of the 40feet high and the cold wind.
Playing with the snowboard was very interesting. It surprised me and cheered me up again from the bad weather. You never know what was going to happen. I was a little disappointed at the end of the first day. I thought it wouldn’t be fun if it snow. Yet, things turned out differently. It was m first time to use the snowboard and slide down from the hill. It was amazing. Especially, I felt great when I could go all the way down and stop in front of the dining hall. I never knew that it was so much fun to play snow in this way.
I liked this trip. I liked camp mason. I like the snow there. Snow gave me another unforgettable memory. I not only felt and love the warm and green spring there, but also its cool and white spring.
